Guardians of Polaris
Arka Sharra Talonn KahviThe Guardians of Polaris are the selected or elected chosen who serve to guide, counsel, and conduct members and clan business. Matriarchs and Patriarchs are automatically members, and they can also be elected from the rank of Apostle. From the original group, members may elevate others as Guardians.
Members are responsible for managing and helping lower level members when they have the opportunity to do so. They should arbitrate disputes, filter problems or issues that need to be brought to an owner, advise members on class paths or monitor their progress, and can also be responsible for adding new members and organizing clan activities. They should always be available to share their knowledge, contribute to the website, and oversee the improvement and growth of especially the clan's newest members.
Any Guardian can add a member to the clan for a trial period, and with no objections from other Guardians, can request the member be made a full one immediately. If at least two Guardians request a member to be removed, that member will be removed immediately(applies only to members who are not Guardians). Guardians can draft mission statements about themselves or the clan that will be approved and published with a majority vote. A Guardian can move that a member be promoted and with a majority vote that member will be promoted. In the case of a promotion to Matriarch/Patriarch of a member already a Guardian, this must be only a majority vote. In the case of promoting a non-Guardian member to Matriarch/Patriarch or electing an Apostle to be a Guardian it must be a unanimous vote. The Guardians may change a clan rule or other set clan issue by unanimous vote. Individual Guardians are always encouraged to discuss issues with an owner, or to involve group discussions to further the development of a particular concern. Discussion and voting of the Guardians is completely confidential between them and if necessary an owner can be informed only of the decision or count rather than details of a discussion or details of the voting.
The Guardians will communicate in game, by email, on AIM(if available), or on the forum. To make voting easier, if a member does not respond to an email within 7 days their lack of voting will not count against the majority, and within 14 days will not count against a unanimous vote by all other Guardians responding. They are encouraged to meet regularly, but meeting and voting are not mandatory for members, only encouraged as a part of their position in the clan overall.
