History
The clan "Northstar" was created June 1st 1999, by Duren. The clan was handed to Zydian in the summer of 2000 with no clan hall and 2 roots in the account. There was much work to be done if we were to survive the elements. The clan grew with a few original members and soon got enough roots to upgrade to a type A clan hall. One month later we upgraded to a type B clan hall and toggled to PK. The PK period lasted about 2 days and cost the clan half of its members. In an effort to rejuvenate the clan, Zydian stripped away all but a few good clannies and created a solid foundation upon which to build a better clan. Northstar had its share of leaders. Thrane was one of the more notable leaders who will not soon be forgotten. Nimue, showing excellent valor and clan commitment, was promoted to Clan Leader soon after she was added to the clan. She eventually worked her way up to become a co-owner. The clan has had its share of enemies and has very few of its original members remaining, but those who have been in Northstar for any length of time still hold ties to the clan. Perhaps the most admirable trademark of Northstar clannies is their commitment and ability to work together to accomplish tasks large or small. Many members exhibit great selflessness and random acts of kindness. It's been a long jagged road to where we are now, and there's still a long way to go.--Zydian
Northstar has become an active clan again. While not a powerhouse or even well-known, we hope to change that. This website is one attempt, as well as the activeness of our clan. We hope to do events such as global quests as a clan and help others that we view as friends.
Both Nimue and Zydian have since left Northstar after a falling out within the first few months of 2002, pursuing other endeavors. Nimue has archoned and found a home in clan 96, Kindred, while Zydian is now in clan 8, Excession. Before they left, ownership was transferred to Jasvyr and Botanicus in hopes that they could enhance Northstar and progress where the former leaders could not. At the time of this writing Northstar is close to it's C hall upgrade and reaching for a higher place in the world of Alyria.--Botanicus
Seven years after Northstar's creation, the clan has become a well established clan and a bastion of knowledge and wisdom. Since the transfer of the clan to Jasvyr and Botanicus, Nemori joined the ranks of owner and the clan has seen many fine members join and leave the clan. All of their efforts and memories are cherished in the heart of the clan.
In recent times the clan has maintained a high level of activity, consistantly ranking in the top 15 clans and has been somewhat responsible for the creation of clan 124, the Arbiters of Fate. In April of 2004 Schyllic, Drysten and Moostafa left to create Arbiters of fate, after which Viegah and Stigma left to join them. Very much their own clan we wish them the best of luck and have continued to carry friendly relations with our clannies in a new clan. Around the same time former clan owner Zydian requested a new clan, Allegiance with former clan member Washu. Nimue was removed from Kindred back in 2002 and has since left the game. We wish her well.
Northstar has been able to upgrade to the C hall and is half way to reaching its D sized hall as well. Our collective strength and knowledge has grown as well with Arka, Yryllyn, and Aukma all archoned within the clan, though Aukma went on to join 124 as well.
There has also been the creation of the Guardians of Polaris, a group of dedicated clan members who help oversee clan interactions, motivating younger clan members, and offering their wisdom on issues facing the clan. Arka, Ascidiella, Sharra and Talonn have been the founding guardians. In September of 2006 Ascidiella was promoted to the position of High Priestess, giving Northstar four leaders, each with a unique perspective on the clan.
Through all its changes, one thing has remained consistant within the clan, its desire to help. Random acts of kindness are still common, as is a sense of honor and pride among clannies. This, combined with the many untangible aspects of the clan helps to keep the clan together, and makes for one of the most unique clans within Alyria.
