It was long ago, but not beyond the scope of myth and memory, that the Dwarven people first began to venture out of the subterranean caverns and underground expanses that had for so long held their attention. During that time, the world of Alyria was a much younger one and there was much to see and do that had never been beheld or tried before. Adventurers could be sure that vast parts of the wilderness remained unexplored and fantastic creatures awaited them, and many of all races indeed set out to make and prove a name.

The story of Jasvyr's experiences in Alyria is not markedly different from that which many other Dwarven tribes have to tell. They joined in the movement to the surface along with other Dwarves hoping to sustain modest ambitions and for improvement of their fortunes. Despite a close bond to the family that had looked after him for many years, Jasvyr felt compelled to seek the unique challenges and rewards of the adventurer's life. Parting from them, as the first generation not to call the inner mountains of Avros home, his path has been complicated. Initial study and training in the basics of his calling took place in Lasler, along with many others starting out. The hybrid Ranger class at first seemed unfitting, for he was determined to prove his worth in service to Lord Telleri, among mercenaries and warriors, for quite some time. After his arrival by Ganuk's Iron Worm service, long before that good mechanic's age and son slowed him down or prejudiced him against new adventurers, Jasvyr honed the skills known to Rangers, making few acquaintances in his focused dedication. He gained satisfaction from his improved abilities to defend himself and understand the natural world, as well as his increasing familiarity with the ways of Alyria. There was no need to boast of his abilities or match them against others.

To become a Cavalier was a natural decision after being in Lord Telleri's service for so long. Despite ridicule at one so slight in stature wielding a lance and disbelief that a Dwarf could master his race's purported fear of equestrians, the class gratified his desire to become more proficient in physical combat; he has worked hard to overcome such stereotypes, as always, and his own deficiencies. In fact, having trained for so long as a Ranger he found that the two classes overlapped in many ways and was soon able to move on into a more spiritual exploration. It was around this time of personal revelation that he happened to come into contact with Clan Northstar, as if a sign from the Power Maradas himself. Greatly respected by all Dwarves and other beings considering themselves of primal element earth, Jasvyr accepted the clan name's symbolic tie to the cardinal direction representing this guardian Power. His connection to the good people making up the clan itself was only fully realized much later on, after getting to know them better through shared quests and misfortunes alike.

Furthering this note of greater self-discovery, he next faced a choice between the cleric classes. Although fascinated, as a Ranger, by the further channeling of natural magic entailed in the lore of the mystical Druids, Jasvyr felt the strategic and spiritual advantage lay in becoming a Priest. It was during this class that he reluctantly accepted co-leadership of Northstar, granted because of his determination and demonstrated concern for the clan's progress and members. The clan faltered somewhat under this redistribution of power and the inexperience of its newly-appointed leaders, but managed to keep from disbanding completely. But it continued to suffer the loss of its veteran members, who routinely chose to move on rather than stay with the clan they had grown up with. Jasvyr spent a long while in the service of Lord Vashir, patron of the city of thieves, in preparation for his rigorous final class studies. At the same time, he also tried to best encourage clan activeness and quality membership, learning the role of a leader. By the time he took on the trappings of Bards, he had developed a contempt for the drink and mischievous social company so beloved to many others of his race. In the steps of those not long before him, he instead journeyed alone to the Faerie Plane for an extended stay, severely testing his will to endure, apply all that he had learned thus far, and at last complete his class advancement. He now struggles to reconcile the teachings of Bard and Priest, forging his own code of integrity; he would that others see too to live by what is fair and right, but finds this is often just not the case--that even the definitions of these are differently interpreted. No superior talent as a musician, he is much more able as a teller of tales (often sobering, moralizing ones to audiences' dismay) and scribe of legends old and new.

More recently, Jasvyr is settling into the role of Hero, not yet an Archon, and that of a clan owner. He continues to work for the improvement of his clan and himself and may one day take on the perils of the Domain of Arabaces and the inexorable Ithrix. For now, he is content to bide his time, questing and making Proving Grounds and equipment rounds rather idly, but he is ever more wary of forgetting the things he enjoys most about this world. It would seem true that good friends come and go, and are indeed few and far between. And perhaps he is too easily disheartened by those that find amusement in the misery and inexperience of others. Lately he finds more objects for his characteristically foul Dwarven temperament, usually reserved for self-criticism. Occasionally, he experiences memories of other lives, both in and strangely out of Alyria, glimpses too fleeting to grasp fully... and somehow senses that this is not his only story.

Jasvyr is now an Archon. A rather busy one, his tale of Archoning shall have to be written later.
