Getting There
As with any great journey, preparation is key. The first thing to realize when traveling to the Faerie plane is that it is not a simple task. Outlined below are a few of the more common ways of exploring this hidden area of Alyria.
Mages have found that using the Teleport and Plane Travel spells they may get to nearly any location desirable. Both of these spells have risks involved with them and will not guarantee the traveling to the Faerie plane and may also take the subject to different areas on their own plane, or to the Void. These spells come commonly in the form of Scrolls, Gold Potions available in New Rigel, Green Vials available in Rune forest, and a select number of items throughout the land including the Ring of Sirchade
An older method of getting to the Faerie plane is to make use of the MoonGates around Alyria. Often called Worldgates these are constructs that harness the moons' power and open portals to other areas. The Faerie plane has two such gates and occasionally they are activated to connect to the mortal plane.
A more tangible way of traveling to the Faerie plane is to travel through Hellbent mountain. Hellbent is a connecting point between the Faerie plane, the mortal realm and an entrance to the Great Alyrian Underground. The path through Hellbent is shrouded in danger and is not advised for the general adventurers.
Due to the low level of traffic to the faerie plane, the powers have seen it fit to deposit Jasper Gemstones throughout the planes. The gems are capable of opening a portal to the fae plane if buried, or may transport a character under level 75 up to 3 times.
For Faeries there is an added method of mystical transport. Using the abjure spell a faerie may be banished to the plane they originate from. This spell does not have to be cast in combat, but cannot be blocked by spells such as sanctuary to use it for a transportation purpose. Typically it requires multiple casts from a scroll to work.
