Polarity
By Laike
A loud crash was heard from the sky followed by a streak of lightning so close Laike was blinded for a few seconds. He was stumbling as he searched for the door. Laike has walked through this door many times in the past year, the door that belongs to Stargazer Clanhall. His vision slowly returned as he found himself standing before the smooth stone entrance.
"It's time." Laike whispered to himself. "After a year of searching I can finally end Lord Telleri's son's eternal suffering." Laike turned around to face his companions with a half smile. "Stay here, I must confront the wizard alone."
Laike pushed the heavy door open and stepped into the dark antechamber. A small light could be seen coming from the room ahead and the sound of mourning could be heard. As he began moving forward he felt as if he had entered a portal into another world, separated from Avros. The contents of the northward room became visible revealing the Wizard himself, the Son of Telleri, staring at a fake model of Marabah with tears running down his face. The minotaur turned, facing Laike. His eyes glowed bright red and his expression was filled with anger and hatred.
"You!" The wizard yelled at the top of his lungs, "You are the one who killed her. You killed Agnes, my only love, you will die for this... I swear!"
"Did you expect me to allow her to attack Tellerium?" Laike asked, as he began digging in his rucksack. "I should never have brought her body to you. I thought you both deserved a second chance, but she was an abomination with the intent of destroying the lives of thousands of people, including your father! Yes Kaizher, your father, or have you forgotten who you are?"
The wizard was angered by the sound of his own name, he began chanting in an arcane tounge with his eyes fixed on Laike. He lifted his hand with his palm open, facing the young sidhe. A red light began to develop in mid air. The wizard threw the ball at Laike as if it were a bomb of some sort. Laike immediately pulled the item he was looking for out of his rucksack. It was a medallion dedicated to Ithrilis. The ball of energy was sucked into the medallion as if it were a whirlpool and the wizard fell to his knees, gripping his chest with both hands. His screams sounded as if it were from two voices, it was obvious that there was some sort of internal battle occuring inside of him. The screaming continued for five minutes, but it seemed like an hour. Pupils could be seen in the wizard's eyes as they returned to there natural white color. His expression became more peaceful and the pain had obviously passed.
"I..." the wizard said. "Have found myself." Kaizher hung his head, "All of this time, living in the darkness. I've spent my life seeking peace, by causing pain in others." Kaizher shook his head and sighed, "I need a lifestyle change.. I don't think that I'll be back. Thank you for showing me the way, Laike. I only wish that you'd been here sooner. I don't feel violent anymore, but if you care to avenge my lost years, my previous 'master' is down there."
The ground rumbled and the floor began to split open. Laike jumped back into the direction of the antechamber as he watched stairs emerging from the newly created hole. The wizard was nowhere to be found. Laike ran toward the stairs, but there was no trace of him. He sighed as he walked back to entrance to meet back up with his friends. As he exited the structure he could see them all standing in a semi-circle... silent.
"The way is clear. I hope you are all ready for the fight of your life." Laike said, staring into each one's soul. They replied with a simple nod. "Good, lets end this."
